Vintage Lucite Pendant.

Lucite is an acrylic invented by Du Pont and was used in WWII aircraft windows because of its clarity and strength, making it bulletproof.

After the war it was quickly taken up by an American company called Trifari as a cheaper alternative to gemstones and pearls in jewellery.

It is still used in aircraft and for many other things to this day.

This lovely paisley piece is from the '70's and I have set it in a gallery and pearl wire setting with a 10 cent piece on the back.

The fairy is sterling silver and is soldered onto the main piece.

Measurements are 22mmW x 50mmL and the leather is 3mm wide x 45cm long.
